Foundations & Slabs: What Suppliers Need Before Install

A solid foundation is critical for any padel court installation. Without proper groundwork, even the best courts can develop issues over time. Most suppliers require a level, well-compacted base, typically made of reinforced concrete, before installation begins.

The slab should be at least 100mm thick, with adequate drainage to prevent water accumulation. The surface must be perfectly level—any slopes or uneven areas can affect play and safety. If installing multiple courts, ensure sufficient space between them for access and maintenance.

Ground conditions also matter. Sites with poor soil may need additional stabilization, which can increase costs and timelines. It’s advisable to conduct a soil test early in the planning phase.

Communicate with your supplier about existing utilities, access routes, and any site constraints. Providing accurate site plans and photos can help them assess readiness and avoid delays. A well-prepared site ensures a smoother installation and longer-lasting courts.
